The Less-Stress Challenge

It’s all about active recovery…

Here at Pongo Power we want to feel good in our bodies this coming year– specifically, relaxed, restored, and recovered. How do we relieve ourselves of stress, when it seems as though we are surrounded by to lists, responsibilities and challenges? The first step is cultivating mindfulness. The next is fellowship.

Take a deep breath. Hold it for 3 seconds. Release. Repeat. The healing has begun!

Recovery and healing happen slowly, over time. True change that is lasting takes sustainable behavioral change. Small, incremental do-able actions that become habitual ways of being, over time.

How do we change our behavior when we don’t feel our best?

Let’s start from the bottom up. Creating opportunities, spaces, and moments of healing require rest and intention. Active recovery is a choice. What are the tools we need to choose the new behavior, when the old one is so familiar?

Learning how to switch from our sympathetic nervous response (fight/flight) to our parasympathetic nervous response (rest/digest) requires a curiosity about our feelings. So often it is simple to choose activities that numb us. This is so very human, because the relief of disassociation is immediate. Tired of thoughts? Scrolling endlessly on our phones, drinking one too many drinks, or ingesting substances that distance us from our consciousness can be a quick salve that seems to ease the intensity of it all. However, when we begin to numb out a bit too frequently; it can lead to cognitive impairment and a poor sense of connection to others. Ready to create a new habit?

You’ll only invest five minutes a day to participate, but the results may feel impactful all day.

You're invited to see for yourself how small daily actions add up, build positive momentum, and help us to achieve big results in our lives. We’ll be with you every step of the way with the tools and support you need.

Join the Challenge!

Here’s everything you will need:

  • a morning mindset journal

  • a daily active recovery technique (foam rolling, gentle stretching, or even finding a sauna!)

  • a simple, healthy recipe to fuel your mind and bod

  • a few moments to go outside and go for a walk, no matter how short. Start with five minutes.

Now create accountability for you and your favorite people. Invite someone into your goal of creating new habits. Share how important it is to you, to both give and receive the much needed gift of wellness and restoration. When you are out and about, open up about the conscious choice you are making to be connected. If this sounds all too overwhelming, start small. Find one person you can trust to share your desire to lead your life by design.

Happy holidays,

The Pongo Power Team
